Inspired by Koolhaas and the future
The venue for the Information Architecture Conference's 25th year was, fittingly, the iconic and visionary Rem Koolhaas Seattle Central Library building. Having worked there digitizing Special Collections materials, I'm deeply familiar with the Library and was inspired to incorporate photos and elements from the interior such as the crimson from level 4 and the modular steel and glass cells of the building's skin into the brand and website.
Retro-futuristic typeface Raptor Sans combined with arrow glyphs and tickertape throughout, further served to generate a feeling of technology-fueled momentum and resonate with the theme: IA in the Age of AI.
Highlighed content
Content-focused portions of the materials such as the schedule and presenter badges used the neon green of the building's escalators, literally highlighting the ideas and contributions at the center of the event as the escalators are at the core of the building.
CTAs and usability
Logistics of price, location, and hotel were collected into one central location while CTAs for registering appeared on all main pages, making it easy to plan to attend and helping to sell out the conference.
